WATER INDUSTRY HUMAN RESOURCE MUST MOVE WITH TECHNOLOGY

In April 2026, SAIGON VALVE was honored to be interviewed by Vietnam Water Supply and Sewerage Magazine in the topic 'Human resource flow - Training in the water industry' in issue 186, sharing perspectives from SAIGON VALVE on the trend of training and developing human resources in the era of digitalization of the water industry.

During the discussion, the company representative - Director Phan Hiep shared many practical perspectives on the development trend of human resources in the water industry in the era of digital transformation, especially the combination of traditional engineering and modern IoT technology.

The quality of human resources in the water industry today has made many positive strides, particularly in the technical foundation within the fields of mechanics, system operation, and water treatment. However, as the water industry enters a new development phase with the emergence of IoT solutions, remote control, and GIS digitized maps, the gap between traditional engineering and the capability to apply modern technology remains a notable challenge.

From the perspective of an enterprise focusing on IoT solutions and smart control equipment, SAIGON VALVE believes that water industry personnel today not only need to clearly understand valve structures, piping systems, or DN – PN standards, but must also step-by-step master new technologies such as sensors, data communication, remote monitoring software, and operational data analysis.

This is also the inevitable shifting trend of the industry: from "purely doing engineering" to "doing engineering combined with technology". When operational data is efficiently exploited, businesses can not only monitor the system better but also proactively predict incidents, optimize costs, and improve the management efficiency of the water supply network.

In addition to technical expertise, supporting skills such as systems thinking, the ability to use management software, GIS digitized maps, or coordination skills between technical – operational – management departments are also becoming increasingly important. In the context of powerful digital transformation, the spirit of proactively learning and updating new technology is no longer just a unique advantage, but has become an essential requirement for the water industry human resources.

Grasping this trend, SAIGON VALVE is orienting its team development according to a model that combines traditional mechanical engineering and modern IoT technology. In parallel with supplying industrial valves and water industry equipment, the enterprise also invests in IoT hardware research, developing remote management software, and integrating GIS digitized map systems to provide a total solution for smart water supply systems.

This also entails the requirement for human resource training towards a multi-skilled direction: both understanding equipment thoroughly and possessing the ability to operate and exploit technology. The technical team is encouraged to gain practical project access, enhancing their capacity to use digital tools to monitor, analyze, and optimize the operational system.

According to SAIGON VALVE, investing in human resources is the core investment for solution quality. A modern system only truly maximizes its efficiency when operated by a team with solid expertise, good technological mindset, and high adaptability.

With the orientation of developing IoT hardware and software in parallel, along with a well-structured investment strategy for people, SAIGON VALVE expects to continue contributing to driving the water supply industry to develop in a more modern, smart, and sustainable direction in the future. In the upcoming development orientation, SAIGON VALVE is committed to continuing to invest in technology, improving the quality of human resources, and accompanying water industry units on the journey of building modern, smart, and sustainable water supply and drainage systems.
